Steiner India was formed to bring the expertise of a century old Steiner AG to India. Today, Steiner AG is a premium service provider in Swizerland that supports the life cycle of real estate: from development to completion and all the way to refurbishment and renovation.
 
Steiner India has been pursuing the premium high-rise sector with focus on construction quality, punctual delivery and optimum maintenance costs on the Indian market. Steiner India exploits the latest technologies to achieve this objective.   This enables the company to provide optimum value creation and value preservation to its customers on any type of structural engineering project. Steiner India is responsible for overall planning, procurement, and structural engineering services at the ‘Lavasa Hill City’ urban development project.   This involves the construction of a completely new city capable of providing living space for 300,000 people. It will cover an area of about 93 km2 in the Indian state of Maharashtra. In addition to this major contract, Steiner India is conducting structural engineering projects in the Mumbai, Bangalore, and Delhi regions.

Ajit Gulabchand

Ajit Gulabchand is Chairman and Managing Director of HCC - one of India's leading construction companies, founded by industrialist Seth Walchand Hirachand in 1926. At the helm of affairs in HCC since 1983, Mr. Gulabchand's path-breaking management initiatives have grown HCC into a modern and vibrant infrastructure player, with a vast business portfolio and a knowledge asset and expertise of more than 3000 professionally qualified people.

HCC has executed a majority of India's most challenging infrastructure projects. Projects executed across India bear HCC's hallmark of worldclass innovation, from Roads & Expressways, Tunnels, Bridges, Dams and Barrages, to India's first and longest open sea Cable-Stayed Bridge in the country's commercial capital, Mumbai.

Mr. Gulabchand is a man with a vision. This is evident through his stewardship of HCC into an integrated group spanning Engineering & Construction, Real Estate, Infrastructure and Urban development and Management. The HCC group of companies comprises HCC Ltd (Engineering & Construction), and its subsidiaries HCC Real Estate Ltd, HCC Infrastructure Ltd and Lavasa Corporation Ltd.

As India is poised to play a major role in global business, Mr Ajit Gulabchand stands tall amongst India's business leaders driving the country's vision of its future. Conferred with the Infrastructure Leader Award for 2009 by CNBC TV 18 Mr Gulabchand was the only Indian business leader to be honoured with an invitation to participate on panels at the UN Summit on Climate Change held in September 2009. And he is one of the few Indian infrastructure developers to actively pursue green policies in project design and implementation processes as an integral part of HCC's business activities.

Mr. Gulabchand is today regarded as a major spokesperson for the Indian infrastructure sector in global forums. A regular participant at the WEF, Davos for two decades, he Chair's the Governor's steering board of the Engineering and Construction community and is a member of the CII-WEF Infrastructure Task force. He is also a founder member of the Geneva-based Disaster Resource Network (DRN) in collaboration with the WEF, the United Nations and International Red Cross. As Chairman of DRN India, he has been involved in disaster management during a number of natural disasters in India and abroad. He is also a signatory member of the United Nations Global Compact's CEO Water Mandate.

Peter Steiner

Peter Steiner

Peter Steiner is a member of the Board of Directors of the Steiner Group. He served as Vice President from May 2010 to February 2014. He previously served as Chairman of the Board from 1988 to 2010, and as delegate of the Board of Directors of the Steiner Group from 1988 to 1999. Peter Steiner joined Steiner AG in 1973 and became a member of the Group Executive Board in 1976.

Currently Peter Steiner also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Sogelym-Dixence, as a member of the management boards of the Zurich Economic Association, the Zurich Chamber of Commerce, and the Swiss Museum of Transport and as a trustee of the Alberto Giacometti Foundation. Prior to joining Steiner AG, Peter Steiner studied at New York University and at the American Management Association, after which he worked in project management, sales and marketing for the Turner Corporation in the United States.

Arun Karambelkar is President and Chief Executive Officer of Hindustan Construction Company Ltd (HCC).

HCC is a leading infrastructure construction company serving the sectors of Transportation, Power, Water and has built many of modern India’s most challenging infrastructure projects including the Bandra Worli Sea Link, Mumbai − India’s first and longest open sea cable-stayed bridge; the Kolkata Metro, Farakka Barrage and India’s largest nuclear power plant at Kudankulam - Tamil Nadu, as well as high altitude Hydro Power projects in the Himalayas.

With an engineering heritage of nearly 100 years, HCC has constructed over 28% of India’s Hydel Power generation capacities, over 65% of India’s Nuclear Power generation capacities, over 3,600 lane km of Expressways and Highways, more than 300 km of complex Tunneling and over 350 Bridges.

The HCC Group, with a group turnover of Rs 10,353 crore, comprises of HCC Ltd, HCC Infrastructure Co. Ltd, Lavasa Corporation Ltd and Steiner AG in Switzerland.

A Silver Medalist in Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) Degree from Mumbai University and a top ranker at the Masters Degree Program in materials management from Pune University, Mr. Karambelkar joined HCC in 1991. He rose successfully through various ranks to his present role. Prior to his current profile, Mr. Karambelkar was a member of the HCC’s ‘Group Management Committee’ (GMC), where he was also involved in monitoring the operations of one of the HCC Group companies - Steiner AG in Switzerland.

Mr. Karambelkar is associated with professional bodies like Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Construction Federation of India (CFI), National Highways Builders Federation (NHBF) and is on central advisory board of Chemtech Foundation. He has been a member of the Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM) since 1982. In recognition of his contribution to Materials Management; he was awarded the ‘UNITOP Award’ by the Indian Institute of Materials Management in 2010.

Ducrey Daniel

Daniel Ducrey was appointed CEO of Steiner Group in April 2015. He joined the Steiner Group in August 2009 as Head of TC/GC Region Centre-West and as Member of the Group Executive Board. Since October 2012 he held the position as CEO of Steiner India based in Mumbai.

Daniel Ducrey has been active in the field of construction and real estate in Switzerland since 1992. From 1999 to 2009 he held various operational and managerial positions at Losinger Construction AG, a subsidiary of Bouygues Group, in particular as Head of the Renovation and Conversion unit in Switzerland. In this capacity he was also a member of the Executive Board. Daniel Ducrey graduated from the Biel University of Applied Sciences with a degree in architecture and subsequently earned a degree in business administration from the Bern University of Applied Sciences.

Ajay Sirohi joined the Steiner Group as CFO in May 2011. He studied in India, in the U.S.A. and Germany and disposes of a Master of Business Administration and International Business as well as a Bachelor of Mathematics. Ajay Sirohi has worked for many years during his successful career as CFO for multinational enterprises such as GE Infrastructure, United Technologies for Building and Aerospace (UTC), ITT and Goodyear Dunlop.

Arun Kumar Singh is with Steiner India subsidiary of Steiner AG Switzerland from November 2013 as Chief Operating Officer. He is responsible for external and internal business operations and Business Development. Arun has over 24 years of expertise in all facets of the construction industry in which Past 18 years in real estate and building construction. Verifiable track record for the successful completion of the projects through effective co-ordination, building positive rapport with architects, consultants, vendors, clients etc. He has also demonstrated the ability to build and lead effective and result oriented team. In his previous assignments he was heading, TATA housing & Development company Ltd, a Prestigious TATA group company as, Regional head Engineering – West. Arun oversees project development for Total and General Contracts and ensures that projects are completed on schedule, within budget, Quality and safety and in accordance with latest design Arun has worked as Vice president Projects for HCC Real Estate Which is wholly owned subsidiary of Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) Limited, a public limited company involved in technically complex and high value infrastructure projects. He has a strong project management and cost management experience with an ability to manage building projects and townships and an assurance of a safe and quality oriented job site. Where he completed prestigious projects like 247 Park, and involved in residential township, SRA projects. Prior to joining HCC in December 2002, Arun has worked for some of India’s leading and most respected companies like Shapoorji Pallonji and company Ltd, Mahindra construction company lts ( M&M group) for projects in MMR, NCR and Chennai. Arun has completed some of prestigious projects in past. some of landmark residential and commercial structures like state of the art 247 park a largest stand alone commercial building, Mahindra Garden - Goregaon, Mahindra Park - Ghatkopar, Construction of New Paint Shop & Assembly Building at M & M Tractor Division Kandivili, Mumbai and construction of the state of art IT office building for Polaris Software Ltd., Gurgaon, Infrastructure Projects and Highrise in Mumbai and may other prestigious projects.
